eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
This goal seems almost unreachable, considering the amount of work that needs to be put into it, with such little time remaining. In 1994, one out of fourteen people were below the poverty line, and since the MDG's were put into place, it has gradually gotten better for Cambodians, though it seems unlikely. Using 25% of the money on this MDG will be used to create more job opportunities in areas where it is hard to come by food. The money will also be used to provide food in the same areas for people who do not have access to a decent amount of food.
achieve universal primary education
Primary education is important for any country to prosper. In Cambodia, it is not one of the bigger issues as of late. Cambodia has almost completed this goal. The amount of children living in rural areas receiving an education is almost equal to that of urban children. With the 5% of money being spent on this MDG, should let them achieve their requirements. The money will be used to create more schools and hire more teachers for those who still do not have access to schooling.
promote gender equality and empower women
This MDG is not a big deal in Cambodia, especially when compared to the other MDG's. There has been much progression in this MDG to begin with, there have been women put into more powerful roles among society recently, and it seems that if there were seminars about women empowerment throughout the country, that would be the push that's needed to meet the requirements of this MDG.
reduce child mortality
With the amount of money being put toward MDG 1, it will greatly reduce the child mortality rate because their parents will have money for necessities such as food and shelter. The money being spent on this MDG will be used for providing health care to those who are under the age of 18.
improve maternal health
To improve this, first women must be seen more as an equal rather than a house pet. With Cambodia doing so well in creating an equal world for women, it is much easier to focus on bettering maternal health. The money being used on this MDG will be used to create more doctor's offices and hospitals for women who are pregnant or have recently given birth.
combat HIv/aids, malaria, and other diseases
Due to this goal having been already met, there will not be much money spent on this MDG. But, the money that will be spent, will be used for educating people on how to recognize diseases and what to do to help contain them until professional help is given.
ensure environmental sustainability
There is almost nothing being done to create a sustainable environment in Cambodia. First to create a strong environment, all of the land mines need to cleared from the country. But, in the mean time, the money can be used to create systems to clean the waterways and to make companies "go green." In addition, creating a global partnership will be helpful for creating a sustainable environment.
develop global partnership for development/de-mining land
First of all, creating a global partnership will bring in a source of income to help with the other MDG's. Creating partnerships with other nations will help boost the economy as well as better the country as a whole. The money coming in from other countries will be used to come up with a better way to de-mine the country because that is the most pertinent issue at the moment. With the mines in place, we can not build up the country.
